Houston NO problem here.
My girlfriend and I have discussed our preferences for an engagement ring, and we’ve agreed that we don’t want a ring from a big box store. Despite my romantic nature and love for Christmas, where I always envisioned a cliché “every kiss begins with Kay” or “he went to Jared” moment, Charlotte has consistently emphasized supporting small businesses whenever possible. This situation provided the perfect opportunity to do just that.
For the past six years, Charlotte has traveled to Houston to celebrate her birthday with her friend Sage and her family. It’s a low-key affair, but she cherishes the time spent with her nieces, her friend, and her friend’s husband. This year, she planned to spend her birthday with me instead. As a hopeless romantic, I saw this as the perfect chance for a heartfelt surprise.
I bought her a ticket to Houston so she could celebrate with her friends, telling her that I had to be in Utah for work (a believable excuse). After securing the ticket, I contacted Sage, and together we began planning what would become Charlotte’s favorite birthday ever. I flew to Houston a day early to help Sage and her family with the preparations.
On the big day, Sage took Charlotte to get their nails done to bide some time. When they returned to the house, the first room was filled with her beloved nieces, who greeted her with “Happy birthday, Auntie!” In the background, our song played softly. Streamers hung from the ceiling, leading her to a pathway of rose petals that ended in a heart shape. I was there, waiting to lead her down the pathway to the heart, where I proposed.
Charlotte is in love with the ring, and I am truly impressed with the craftsmanship, customer service, and timely delivery from Will Work Jewelry.
Thank you all so much for making this a moment we will never forget.
